Job description

A rapidly-scaling, U.S.-based healthcare organization that is using intuitive technology, and evidence-based scientific content, is looking for an OpenStack DevOps Engineer. The selected engineer would be responsible for taking ownership of automating day-to-day operations and utilizing big-data analytics/machine learning to streamline engineering efforts. Businesses are able to develop game-changing technologies that benefit the entire world owing to the company's unrivaled scientific knowledge and incomparable human expertise. The ideal candidate for the role should be able to provide a minimum 4-hour overlap with the EST time zone.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Help the operations team to develop automation and observability tools for builds, deployments, and ongoing operations
  • Continue the enhancement of existing CI/CD platforms for the company’s Enterprise Data Hub and Content Pipelines
  • Create business value, perform installations and application upgrades in a complex Big Data ecosystem
  • Deliver new and enhanced solutions to achieve company goals and drive growth 
  • Generate new content builds and streams by operating large-scale cluster-computing environments, complex content pipeline applications, and job queues
  • Groom epic and story backlogs for upcoming development sprints while collaborating with teammates and product owners 
  • Drive automated software testing, advanced change control, and continuous delivery
  • Establish and follow industry-standard software engineering practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Expert-level understanding of and experience with OpenStack, Linux, Jenkins, Docker, and Git
  • Thorough understanding of programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Ruby, and Shell Script
  • Knowledge of and experience with agile environments, ceremonies, and practices, including- daily standups, retrospectives, and epic grooming sessions
  • Understanding of Test Driven Development and ability to work with a quality-first mindset 
  • Previous experience working with peer-pairing or willingness to do so when it makes sense
  • Ability to adapt quickly while working in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment
  • Quick learner with a knack to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Great English communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate work items in a group environment
