Job description

A rapidly-growing company providing a professional networking platform for blue-collar workers to network, find their next job, and upskill is looking for a Node.js Back-End Developer. The developer will be tasked with designing and implementing software for continuous integration and deployment. The company is committed to addressing the lack of work opportunities and upskilling chances for the population's lower rungs. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
  • Collaborate daily with a cross-functional team in a distributed environment
  • Design and implement the overall system architecture
  • Ensure the entire stack is designed and built for speed and scalability
  • Manage Google Compute Engine or AWS
  • Design and deployment of databases and APPs on servers
  • Design and construct JSON & REST API
  • Integrate front-end with the constructed API
  • Support the entire lifecycle (design, develop, test & debug, release, and support)
  • Gather specific requirements and suggest solutions
  • Remain up-to-date with the concepts and best practices for system development
  • Manage code repositories on GitHub or equivalent
  • Document features, technical specifications & infrastructure 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer 
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical plans
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
  • At least 2+ years of experience managing Google Compute Engine or AWS
  • Demonstrable experience implementing and managing basic security & hardening of Servers
  • Good knowledge of Debian, Fedora, or other Linux builds
  • Experience with MariaDB, MySQL, query logging, and query optimization
  • Experience in handling data on cloud storage
  • At least 3 to 4+ years of experience in Node.JS
  • Solid working experience building JSON & RESTful APIs
  • Experience with integrating custom code with 3rd party APIs
  • Expert knowledge of client-server communication
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with managing code repositories
  • Experience with unit tests, test-driven development & code coverage, testing frameworks, and refactoring code
  • Ability to write technical & non-technical documentation
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
