Job description

A US-based company operating an online photo-editing software, is looking for a Node Back-end Engineer. The engineer will work with both a brilliant AI research team as well as a front-end team to manage and expand the company’s back-end stack and user experience. The company develops offline AI technology to provide developers tools and resources to create world-class applications for photography, video and other creative use cases. The company has managed to raise $13.5mn in funding so far. The platform’s in-browser photo editor is capable of editing raw images, enabling users to edit photos with ease on all major platforms and operating systems. This is a great opportunity for those who would like to join a fast-growing company and build innovative solutions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on developing new features like social signups for the company's photo editor
  • Take charge of tasks like encoding, decoding, versioning of the image filters
  • Work on integrating dual cloud services - AWS and Aliyun
  • Develop and improve the company’s filter search services using the best approaches
  • Collaborate with different teams to streamline solutions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Must have at least 3-year of work experience in software development, with 1 year of experience as a back-end expert
  • Must be a professional coder with experience in C/C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, Shell or Go
  • Professional experience of developing architecture and distributed systems, particularly in a microservices architecture
  • Well-versed with database internals, language theories, design, programming, and SQL 
  • Must be able to understand technologies such as virtualization and global infrastructure, load balancing, networking, data storage, Hadoop, MapReduce, message queue, and security
  • In-depth knowledge of major cloud vendors like AWS, GCP, Azure, and AliCloud
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment is an advantage
  • Must be able to speak communicate fluently in English
