Job description

A U.S.-based company that is providing cutting-edge lead response, social recruiting, digital engagement, and social media technologies, is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for the management, supervision, coaching, and career development of junior DevOps team members. The company is on a mission to help businesses transform customer engagement by leveraging digital and social media tools and solutions. The company has managed to secure more than $13.2mn in funding so far.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own the entire architecture, design, construction, security, performance, and dependability of all assets supporting the creation, delivery, and use of software products
  • Take charge of COTS product suites like Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Office 365, and Azure AD, as well as resources and assets in other cloud (AWS, Rackspace) and on-premises environments are also included in the list of assets that fall under the purview of this role
  • Create and manage policies and support architectures for cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery in order to run a top-tier, cloud-native technology ecosystem for product development and delivery at scale
  • Together with product management and product engineering leadership, apply creative solutions to complicated issues by understanding key pain points
  • Work with internal software engineering teams, managed services providers, and professional services partners to identify and address any emerging infrastructure, network, security, and data issues
  • Conduct employee interviews, recruit, and train, assign tasks, and evaluate employee performance
  • To safeguard the data assets, enhance product performance, reduce costs associated with cloud infrastructure, guarantee regulatory compliance, create new standards, methods, rules, procedures, and operational workflows, and improve those already in place
  • Control the management of domains, domain registrars, DNS, and CDN capabilities
  • Own the development of a production-ready platform for delivering software products, including the roadmap, architecture, design, implementation, and management of the cloud infrastructure, resources, CI/CD pipelines, and SDLC procedures
  • Support the development and institutionalization of modern, cloud-native engineering methods that promote business agility and lead to the delivery of safe, dependable, maintainable, and effective software products and services to satisfy consumers
  • Demonstrate a blend of technical prowess, architectural vision, and the ability to develop technical talent
  • Mentor and lead junior cloud engineers
  • Build trusting relationships with business and technology partners to collaborate successfully, reduce bottlenecks inside the organization, and advance constantly

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • 8+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure, including release engineering, cloud network topologies, cloud security, and live site operations using lean-agile approaches
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud engineering fundamentals from Google GCP and/or Amazon AWS
  • Prolific TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLAN, Routing, DNS, and Load Balancing expertise and design experience, ideally in public cloud environments\
  • Extensive experience in Azure cloud engineering, networks, security, and infrastructure
  • Strong working understanding of PaaS, serverless computing, and cloud IaaS (Windows and Linux VMs) installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance
  • Nice to have some working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes orchestration
  • Working understanding of cloud infrastructure and application security engineering techniques and tools, as well as relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of the pipelines, tools, procedures, and methods used in software engineering
  • Extensive experience instrumenting cloud applications and infrastructure for logging, telemetry, monitoring, and alerting
  • Prior experience creating and utilizing metrics and KPIs to drive business and technical outcomes
  • Ability to use a variety of scripting languages, such as PowerShell, ARM (Azure Resource Manager), and Terraform, to automate tasks with a focus on IaC (infrastructure as code)
  • Offer a rich developer experience through self-service and API-driven cloud platform capabilities, by showcasing a thorough understanding of DevSecOps and SRE
  • Strong presentation and teamwork abilities
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
