Job description

A well-established company that is determined to revolutionize the education industry with their next-gen technology is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for improving the engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the organization. The company is working with education institutions across the world to help them build, deploy, and streamline their digital infrastructure. The company has successfully managed to secure more than $8mn in funding so far. This position requires a significant overlap with the IST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design robust, testable systems on the platform as required
  • Work closely with the team to write automation tests, understand requirements, and build solutions
  • Produce high-quality results by leading or contributing to cross-functional projects
  • Actively own features or systems and define their long-term health

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7-8+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS cloud expertise in EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, and Cloudfront
  • Prolific experience with VPC, VPN, Transit Gateway, Auto Scaling, and Load Balancer
  • Demonstrable experience working with Cloudwatch, ECS, ECR, Lambda, RDS, and AWS Backup Service
  • Extensive experience with Python, Docker, Terraform, and Cloud formation  
  • Prior experience with Jenkins CI/CD groovy scripting 
  • Experience with Shell scripting (Powershell/Bash shell)
  • Prolific experience working with Windows IIS server and New Relic 
  • Nice to have some knowledge of CI-CD deployment Beanstalk, AWS Fargate & EC2 deployment with ECS and ECR 
  • Familiarity with Jenkins groovy script is desirable
  • Strong understanding of the Jira tool and ticket updates is preferred
  • Some knowledge of TFS Git operations is nice to have
  • Prior experience with the creation of deployment runbooks and project documentation
  • Excellent English communication and customer interactions skills
