Job description

A rapidly-growing company that provides bespoke mobile application solutions to help businesses thrive, monetize, and secure their apps, is looking for a Data Scientist. The selected candidate will be in charge of architecting and implementing new solutions while overseeing the platform’s data modeling. The company offers a comprehensive suite of app management solutions that help businesses boost their app marketing efforts. The company has managed to raise $350K+ during their Seed round of funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute innovative ideas/personal approaches to the team
  • Develop new models and platform features in collaboration with the data, development, and product teams
  • Assist in the upkeep and improvement of the product's statistical models.
  • Contribute to the development of the data pipeline by working with NoSQL database technologies at a large scale
  • Take initiative to improve and streamline the existing processes
  • Take the effort to obtain domain-specific knowledge about the company's infrastructure as well as the industry at large

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Economics, or IT
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist
  • 3+ years of experience with modeling real-world data using statistics and Machine Learning
  • Keen interest in learning about the mobile app economy
  • Nice to have some experience with scaling your own data models to production and building/maintaining pipelines
  • Extensive experience coding in Python and/or R and SQL
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform products and services would be a plus
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Grape, Swagger, AWS, BigQuery, Redis, Elasticsearch, and MySQL
  • Experience with jQuery, Highcharts, React, Sidekiq, Celery, and Airflow
  • Knowledge of Cloud66, Capistrano, JavaScript, Ruby, Vagrant, Ansible, Packer, and Docker
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both tech and non-tech audiences
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills
