Job description

A US-based early-stage venture fund that is investing in companies through data-driven evidence and analysis, is looking for a Data Scientist. The selected candidate will be a member of the team that develops and analyses machine learning models to discover investment candidates, while also being in charge of building the investment analytics platform. The firm uses advanced algorithms to narrow down on promising B2B, AI, cloud storage, and eCommerce startups to invest in remotely. This will be a full-time role that requires 4+ hours overlap with the PST time zone. This is a great opportunity for developers to work with a leading firm while meeting exciting companies, and amazing entrepreneurs from all over the world.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead the research and development of the company’s latest products and services
Apply quantitative analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques to build models that make sense of user needs, usage patterns, factors that drive deeper adoption
Influence product development, strategy, and roadmap prioritization
Design and implement machine learning pipelines that improve the company’s data-driven decision-making capabilities
Tackle complex problems that require innovative, elegant, and creative solutions

Job Requirements:

B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Science, or other related majors
At least 2+ years of relevant experience as a Data Scientist
Extensive knowledge and experience working with Python
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system architecture
Relevant experience with large data set analysis
Experience with Python and machine learning applications (Scikit, Tensorflow, etc.) is nice to have
Experience as an entrepreneur or in the venture ecosystem is desirable
Strong English communication skills
