Job description

An emerging company that is transforming the banking industry with some revolutionary products and services that tap into the power of technology is looking for a Data Science Engineer. The engineer will leverage existing insights and develop new strategies to drive the product strategy. The company is reimagining the banking experience by enabling users to earn incentives in real-time for every transaction they make. The company has securely raised $150mn+ in funding so far. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify business hurdles and opportunities for performance improvements
  • Resolve bottlenecks utilizing analytics to make strategic or tactical modifications
  • Contribute to different processes like data cleaning and wrangling, quantitative analysis, data mining, etc
  • Invest time to understand how users interact with consumers and products
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to resolve problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Inform, influence, support, and execute product development decisions and launches
  • Help to forecast and set product team goals along with designing and evaluating experiments
  • Keep monitoring key product metrics and understand key factors behind changes in metrics
  • Building and analyzing dashboards and reports
  • Building key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis
  • Help to evaluate and define metrics
  • Suggest components/processes build in the next roadmap
  • Develop an understanding of ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends
  • Work on identifying new levers in order to move key metrics
  • Develop models of user behaviors for analysis and power production systems
  • Assist product teams using presentations of data-driven recommendations
  • Communicate the state of business, experiment results, and more to product teams
  • Implement the best practices for analytics and product teams

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/MA or Ph.D. with a focus in Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science or Engineering
  • At least 3+ years of experience working as a Data Science Engineer
  • Must be able to perform quantitative data analysis, write reports, and present findings
  • Should possess expertise in Data querying languages like SQL, scripting languages Python, or statistical technologies like R, SAS, or MATLAB
  • Must have strong analytical skills for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating large amounts of info with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Thorough understanding of applied statistics or experimentation (i.e., A/B testing) in an industry setting
  • Should be able to communicate results of analyses to product or leadership teams to influence the strategy
