Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Assist in formulating an effective, responsive design and turn it into a effective WP theme, plugin, or application
  • Design and deploy new features and functionality for WordPress websites and applications
  • Take ownership of providing high-performance and availability of all technical aspects of the CMS

  • Design and manage the website back-end, including database and server integration
  • Conduct website and/or application performance and UI tests
  • Oversee performance of the live websites and applications
  • Identify and troubleshoot any content issue quickly
  • Build website/application architecture using WordPress

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience in full-stack development WordPress (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Extensive experience in building website and/or web application UI on WordPress

  • Extensive experience in building website and/or web application UI on WordPress
  • Expertise in designing and developing responsive websites/applications
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, React, CSS3, jQuery
  • Experience working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of translating layout and wireframes into working responsive HTML pages
  • Strong understanding of CSS changes and ramifications to maintain style consistency
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git/SVN/Mercurial
  • Proficient interacting with RESTful APIs and formats like JSON, XML
  • Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics
  • Fluency in English language for effective communication
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Understanding of other CMS like Shopify, Magento, Drupal, etc.
  • Experience with modern build workflow and tooling
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills
