Job description
Job responsibilities
- Define the technical scope and objectives through research and participation in requirements-gathering and definition of processes
- Ingest and process data from various sources in raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured formats into a Big Data ecosystem
- Assist in real-time data feed processing using the Big Data ecosystem
- Design, review, implement and optimize data transformation processes in the Big Data ecosystem
- Test and prototype new data integration tools, techniques, and methodologies
- Participate in overall test planning for the application integrations, functional areas, and projects
- Work with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure a quality product is delivered
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of enterprise-scale applications and systems development experience with Python programming (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Experience with AWS Cloud, including S3, EC2, Lambda, SNS, DynamoDB, cloud security, etc.
- Excellent system design skills and the ability to resolve complex problems with simple and scalable solutions.
- Expertise in Big Data technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem, like Spark, Yarn, Kafka, Airflow, Hive, etc., and Hadoop distributions, like Cloudera
- Extensive development experience in Java, specifically in Spring Framework and related technologies, such as SpringBoot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, etc.
- Strong understanding of data analytics and data visualization
- Fluent in English to communicate effectively
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- DevOps skills with knowledge of Jenkins & Terraform
- Knowledge of monitoring, reporting, and alerting tools
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system
- Experience with Scala is preferred
- Knowledge of API & microservices is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in an Agile environment
