Job description
Job responsibilities
- Develop and enhance data products leveraging technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, etc.
- Develop and operate scalable, resilient data pipelines using open source big-data technologies
- Write efficient, scalable, robust, and maintainable code for new features and system components
- Refactor the codebase to ensure maintainability, testability, and performance
- Support production infrastructure, debug and fix issues in applications
- Provide continuous feedback, identify process improvement opportunities, openly communicate, and collaborate to enhance team capabilities
- Follow industry best practices and raise the bar for quality standards
- Fluency in English to ensure smooth communication with international teams/stakeholders
- Comfortable working full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
- Exceptional skillsets in Java, Python, and Scala is a plus
- Extensive experience in Object-Oriented Programming
- Prolific experience with ETL jobs and SQL, including stored procedures
- Proficient in Big Data technologies, like Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Kafka, etc., and cloud-based technologies, like AWS, Azure, etc.
- Strongholds of containerization, microservices, Spring, and data warehouse technologies, like Snowflake and Vertica
- Strong foundation in algorithms and distributed systems, software development concepts, and fundamentals
- Fluency in English to ensure smooth communication with international teams
- Comfortable with working full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Experience in automated testing and version control
- Familiarity with relational databases, like MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
- Proficiency in Agile SDLC and SCRUM
- Ambitious and passionate about learning new technologies to build new products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
