Job description

A rapidly-growing digital solutions company building a mobile-first, AI-powered digital bank is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for solving problems for clients that will have a deep economic and social impact. The company has developed a number of products across multiple business lines, including banking, payments, investments, and lending. They have successfully raised a funding of over $150mn in 4 rounds. This job presents a great chance to join the team and contribute towards building a community-first digital bank.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate, own, and influence the system architecture and design
  • Work with other engineers, data scientists, and product owners to achieve set goals
  • Build systems that will foster experiments and quick iterations
  • Create platforms that allow scientists to train, deploy, and monitor models at a large scale
  • Develop analytical systems that will ensure better decisions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-7+ years of experience building systems with high quality
  • Strong computer science fundamentals is a must
  • Expertise in Java/Scala and Python
  • Strong programming skills with a keen focus on re-usability and low operational overhead
  • Strong skills in system design, Object-Oriented Programming, and Design Patterns 
  • Working experience with distributed systems, NoSQL systems, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience with reactive programming paradigm using scala & Akka is a plus
  • Work experience with the actor models of programming using erlang is nice to have
  • Good judgment in architecture and design with excellent problem-solving skills
