Job description

A US-based company building AI-based computer vision solutions and technologies is looking for a Python Developer. The developer will be in charge of maintaining an environment that encourages continuous innovation while managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables on a per-project basis. The company is innovating the safety, security, and identity of businesses across a wide range of industries with their mission-critical solutions. They have managed to raise $50mn+ in funding so far. This will be a full-time role that requires 4+ hours overlap with the PST time zone. This is a great opportunity for developers eager to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive decisions
  • Collaborate with the Machine Learning team to efficiently provide recognition model updates and new releases
  • Create, test, and improve APIs and SDKs that power the company's facial recognition models.
  • Architect, build, and upgrade a software product suite based on SDKs and APIs.
  • Develop computer vision applications for clients
  • Architect, develop, and enhance data engineering pipelines such that billions of records of data can be processed efficiently for training and testing models
  • Collaborate closely with the Machine Learning team to produce efficient models that are evaluated using the NIST FRVT test
  • Assist in the creation of software components, systems, and features
  • Attend standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, code reviews, and other agile development events
  • Scope and plan engineering activities and dependencies with management and stakeholders
  • Mentor and train other members of the team on engineering best practices, such as design and coding standards

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in building modern software products
  • 3+ years of experience in architecting and building APIs
  • 3+ years of experience working in a team environment collaborating and influencing all the stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience working with Python, Java, and Golang
  • Nice to have some knowledge of C++
  • Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp and debate technical concepts with internal and external partners, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas
  • High attention to detail and a track record of managing several competing priorities at the same time
  • Polished communication style, both oral and written
  • Comfortable working with people at all levels of the company, both technical and non-technical
  • Knowledge in machine learning and neural networks, as well as tools such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, is desirable
  • Knowledge of video streaming systems and large-scale implementations is nice to have
  • Experience constructing and expanding data pipelines for efficiently processing and storing enormous amounts of data
  • Nice to have direct experience porting SDKs or software between chipsets is a plus (Intel, Ambarella, Xilinx)
