Job description

A U.S.-based company that is providing modern business solutions ranging from brand management to marketing automation, is looking for a Lead Software Engineer. The engineer will oversee the development, architecture, integration, bug fixes, deployment, support, and documentation of APIs. The company is offering clients direct marketing solutions on demand, giving them control over their brand. This position requires 4+ hours of overlap with the U.S.-time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop an API roadmap, strategy, and solution for a business customer while being well-versed in SOA and API frameworks
  • Utilize API management software to create and implement API management that includes API proxies, mashups, northbound and southbound security, rate limits, analytics, and developer portals
  • Demonstrate critical thinking when creating solutions for intricate business needs using either existing or new APIs
  • Recognize and adapt the business vision to the API(s) and its features
  • To promote uniformity in design, make sure all APIs comply with the most recent API standards
  • Various API product features and capabilities installation and configuration
  • Help API developers by providing high-performing, high-quality APIs
  • Find innovative ways to boost API usage and engagement by working with PDMs
  • Mentor teams to use the most up-to-date technology and industry-accepted best practices for developing, implementing, testing, and deploying APIs
  • Organize the team to record the architecture, design, and test scripts

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Demonstrable experience working with Java, Microservices, API Management, etc.
  • Prolific experience with REST, Web Services, JSON, SOAP, and XML
  • Experience in API Monitoring and governance
  • Exceptional experience with OAuth2 implementations using any Identity/SSO tools
  • Familiarity with API’s designing and modeling using Swagger and API Developer toolkit
  • Expertise in multiple API development frameworks
  • Prolific experience with middleware and cloud technologies like NoSQL datastores, AWS/GCP/Azure, and Mobile app development
  • Familiarity with RDBMS and NoSQL Database
  • Experience in SCRUM methodologies
  • Showcase a thorough understanding of modeling techniques, SOLID design concepts, and software quality assurance principles
  • Ability to steer design conversations and persuade key decision-makers regarding deployment topologies, scaling, performance, and sizing
  • Excellent collaboration and presentation skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English communication
