Job description

A U.S.-based company revolutionizing the Fintech industry by providing access to top private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds is looking for a Lead Front-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for architecting and building applications while coordinating with other teams for other layers of the product infrastructure. The company is building a well-structured team with decades of fintech and investing experience from some of the world’s prominent brands in financial services and venture. This is an exciting opportunity for developers to prove their mettle and move quickly up the ranks. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks that arise in the platform
  • Encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes
  • Maintain the code and write automated unit and integration tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality
  • Work with Product Managers to understand the requirements and implement them accordingly 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a front-end engineer
  • Expert-level skills with JavaScript and Typescript and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax
  • Strong Knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Ability to write well-documented, clean code
  • Strong Redux knowledge and experience
  • Proficient with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
  • Conversant with writing automated tests - Ideally, Jest (e.g., Jest, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, AVA, tape)
  • Familiarity with Git and GitHub in a professional/workplace environment
  • Proficient with core web and browser concepts (e.g., how the browser parses and constructs a web page)
  • Core skills in semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript concepts
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
  • Sound expertise in communicating about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and proposing thorough iterative solutions
  • Familiar with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both analyze and contain these problems
  • Comfortable working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process
  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Effective communication skills to achieve consensus with peers regularly, and clear status updates
  • Self-motivated and self-managing with great organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with other parts of the organization
