Job description

A US-based company that uses interactive gesture control, curation, voice control, and providence technologies to help close the gap between the conventional and digital art world, is looking for a Lead Android Developer. The selected candidate will collaborate directly with the CTO and a global cross-functional, collaborative, and talented team dedicated to creating amazing products. The company is building the most elegant digital frameworks to display minted artwork. This will be a full-time position that can open doors to new opportunities for development. During their Pre-Seed round, the company managed to raise $4mn+ in funding. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Architect and build website applications for the company’s platforms 
  • Work in a cross-functional team to build the company’s products and features
  • Work in a leadership role to guide the team in the regular delivery of product
  • Perform automated tests for features and improve the quality of code 
  • Create innovative solutions with a high standard of quality and performance 
  • Build products using agile test-driven methodologies for the company's mobile and frame apps
  • Work with peers to brainstorm solutions to improve application performance
  • Collaborate with designers, testers, and product managers to find the best solutions for the company’s customers
  • Help hire and mentor junior engineers in the team 
  • Interact and learn with engineers across the company
  • Promote responsible engineering practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as an Android developer 
  • A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in developing mobile applications
  • At least 1 year of Android application development experience using Kotlin (background in Java preferred) 
  • Expertise in working with the Android SDK using Android Studio is required
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design and prior experience using architectural patterns such as MVP, MVI, or MVVM is nice to have 
  • Comprehensive understanding of Functional Reactive Programming methodologies, Android Clean Architecture, SOLID Principles, and Dependency Injection
  • Nice to have an experience in Kotlin Flow or ReactiveX (RxJava)
  • Knowledge of CS foundations like data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, multi-threading, and complexity analysis is preferred but not required 
  • Demonstrable experience using Agile principles and methodologies, including workflows and rituals
  • Passion for test-driven development, unit testing, and other workflow automation like continuous integration is a plus
