Job description

A payments startup in their Seed stage committed to helping millions of people turn careers into better credit, is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer. The engineer will be expected to hold themselves to a high bar when working with production systems. The company is building a platform to help streamline and automate the bill payment process without worrying about missed payments and overdraft fees. This position requires 4+ hours of overlap with the CDT time zone and a long-term, full-time role.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build efficient engineering frameworks and processes for quickly iterating and launching products into production
  • Develop tooling and automate processes to provide a resilient and flexible platform for other engineers
  • Design, build, and continuously improve deployment systems for all services and systems supporting sensitive traffic
  • Think about all aspects of the systems like edge cases, failure modes, and life cycles

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as an Infrastructure Engineer
  • Extensive DevOps experience
  • Demonstrable skills with Bash, Go, and Ruby
  • Prolific experience with AWS and Terraform
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL/NoSQL, and Prometheus
  • Experience working with transactional databases and caching systems
  • Nice to have some experience working with financial systems and/or startups
