BI Engineer

A U.S.-based company that has been working with cutting-edge technologies for over a century to transform the pharmaceutical industry, is looking for a BI Engineer. The engineer will be primarily working on acquiring and normalizing data, not forecasting. The company is researching, manufacturing, and distributing a wide range of healthcare products and services that cater to the growing needs of a global customer base.  This position requires 7-8+ hours of overlap with the EST time zone and will be a long-term position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Gather information from a variety of sources in a multinational corporation (e.g., semi-structured data in PDF files, spreadsheets, and structured data in BDs)
• For the purpose of consuming analytics, transform, normalize, and map the data to a central schema
• Enter the data into the platform for internal capacity predictions
• Address a range of project challenges, such as forecast accuracy, information availability, worldwide responsibility, and the requirement to visit locations all over the world
• For internal data reporting, connect the data to Power BI
• Work involving extremely private and sensitive data

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a BI Engineer
• Prolific experience working with Power BI and SQL
• Some understanding of Python for Data Engineering is nice to have
• Data gathering and standardization skills to utilize the information in their internal capacity management evaluation tool
• Excellent conversational and written English communication skills
