Job description
Job responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain software to support developers and software infrastructure
- Own features or systems and define their long-term health, as well as improve the health of surrounding systems
- Write clean readable code, debug complex problems, prioritize tasks and get those done with high-level efficiency
- Develop and implement tests to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of deliverable applications
- Support research scientists in using tech client’s infrastructure like source control, distributed computing clusters, data storage, etc. effectively
- Coordinate with a large set of internal infrastructure and tool teams to evaluate and integrate with existing systems
- Keep learning new trends, dive into discovering new technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving
- Lead the tooling and infrastructure development to make AR/VR research more efficient
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Profound knowledge of computational complexity, algorithm design, low-level computer architecture, software design
- Extensive working experience with different programming languages including Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, C, C++, etc.
- Sound knowledge of networks and security concepts, SAN technology, and storage
- Proficient with TCP/IP environment, virtualization technologies, and OS performance monitoring
- Solid grip over Windows or Linux shell scripting
- Proficient with version control and review systems like Git, Bitbucket/Gerrit, etc.
- Experience with unit testing, test frameworks, and methodologies
- Fluent in English to communicate effectively
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Proficiency working with build systems (Scons/Makeetc)
- Knowledge of using Kubernetes or Docker
- Understanding of AWS services related to CI/CD/CT
- Basic operational knowledge of DevOps and machine learning
- Great technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent logical thinking and collaborative skills
