Job description

A US-based B2B marketing company offering lasting marketing solutions is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for architecting, developing, and supporting distributed and scalable systems using hands-on coding experience in modern programming languages. The company is led by experienced founders and Y-Combinator alumni with a track record of building successful companies. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced leaders and industry veterans while developing impactful solutions. It is a full-time engagement and requires at least 3 hours of time overlap with PST.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Play a role in building and maintaining the infrastructure using software engineering best practices
  • Work closely with product owners and engineers across the company to instrument key data elements
  • Effectively communicate with various teams and stakeholders, escalate technical and managerial issues at appropriate times and resolve conflicts
  • Design, build and support the platform for monitoring and data quality issues
  • Leverage efficient development techniques, standards, and guidelines to build quality products

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience as a back-end software engineer
  • Expert skills in Go, Kotlin, Python, Ruby, Java, Clojure, Kotlin, Scala, Elixir/Erlang or Rust
  • Experience with Node, Javascript, and Typescript
  • Knowledge of best practices in building fault-tolerant, distributed systems
  • Knowledge of writing good APIs and the difference between big data and real-time data including the tools and approaches
  • Understanding of the best practices for setting up alerts and monitoring 
  • Proficiency in navigating AWS
  • Adaptable and good communication skills
