Job description

A revolutionary OTT platform that is an industry leader with 300 million users and operating in 6+ countries, is looking for a Senior Software Development Android Engineer. The engineer will take ownership of the team’s continued efforts to scale mobile app development across engineering, providing valuable insight on refining existing processes and tools to support additional contributors in the architecture and code. The company has raised over $220mn in funding so far. This will be an excellent opportunity to work with best-in-class products, technology, and teams together in a global organization.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute actively in building individual features and products while keeping best practices and patterns in mind for defining engineering lifecycle in the Android discipline
  • Take charge of scalability and identifying scopes of improvement in mobile apps development across engineering
  • Provide inputs about fine-tuning processes and tools to support additional contributors in architecture and code
  • Own feature development tasks for most popular applications for smartphones and tablets
  • Lead end-to-end tasks for ensuring product quality, from development and maintenance of core app frameworks to ensure making the apps more reliable and delightful
  • Develop prototypes for new ideas and keep gaining knowledge of new technologies at the forefront of mobile technology

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in Android mobile applications development 
  • Must possess a sound understanding of Android architecture, frameworks, Android SDK, Core Java, Android Studio IDE, and Android Debugger
  • Prior experience in developing mobile apps and mobility solutions – native applications
  • A master of UI components and controls like - Action Bars, Widgets, Fragments, and more
  • Must possess strong knowledge of basic components of Android platforms like Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, and Content Provider
  • Past work experience with Web Service Integration (REST, JSON, XML) 
  • Must have experience in working with cloud technologies like AWS, GAE, and GCM
  • Should have in-depth knowledge of different areas of mobility like Enterprise mobility, Mobile applications pertaining to various domains like Retail, VAS, Media, BFSI, Healthcare, Social Networking, E-commerce, and more
  • Knowledge of utilizing analytics, location and social APIs, MDM, payment gateway, SMS gateway, media content transcoding, and cloud integration, and APM tools
  • Must be able to speak English fluently with strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to understand Cantonese language
