Job description

A fast-growing company that aims to revolutionize the ground freight transportation sector through innovations is looking for a Senior Python Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of integrating many data sources and databases into a single system. The company is leveraging modern technology to solve the most pressing issues in the logistics sector. This is a nice opportunity for developers to work on challenging projects and expand their knowledge base. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and meet targets
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, business users, project managers, and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions
  • Optimize and scale the existing application for maximum speed and scalability

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Python engineer
  • Experience working with and applying proper coding patterns
  • Experience with Django, Flask, or similar turnkey web frameworks
  • Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries
  • Understanding of cloud architecture patterns and scalable design pattern
  • Experience with scalable microservices
  • Experience with a major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Understanding of the threading limitations of Python and multi-process architecture
  • Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
  • Understanding of the differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
  • Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Strong unit test and debugging skills
  • Experience with Pandas and AI API’s is nice to have
