Job description

A US-based company that has built a customer data platform for customer brands with a number of channels is looking for a Senior Back-End Systems Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with a group of other engineers and designers to modify the company's data pipeline. The company manages more than 250 billion API calls on a monthly basis and up to $5 bn in transactions with close to $300 mn in funding. This position requires an overlap of 6 hours with the US time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and maintain radical new data processing features that are fast, dependable, and cost-effective
  • Scan and process petabytes of data efficiently to power analytics
  • Work with data processing concepts that are highly scalable, such as message queuing, multi-threaded code, and sharding, among others
  • Analyze complex systems for areas for improvement
  • Use continuous research, self-improvement, and internal presentation to drive the engineering culture
  • Lead technical projects utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Engineers should be mentored in healthy best practices
  • Identify, plan, and carry out critical infrastructure initiatives
  • Cloud costs, performance, and reliability should be monitored, diagnosed, and optimized

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Experience working in a SaaS or PaaS environment using .Net technologies
  • 3+ years of professional AWS / Distributed system experience
  • Knowledge of Containerization (Docker) and SQL / RDBMS
  • Familiarity with NoSQL such as Cassandra, Scylla, Aerospike, and DynamoDb
  • Knowledge of Messaging (Kafka, Pulsar, SQS)
  • Experience with S3, Lambda, ECS, Kubernetes (K8s), and ElasticSearch/ELK stack
  • Familiarity with AWS Networking Concepts/Costs
  • Knowledge of Mastery of C# (modern Dotnet core preferred)
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies
  • Understanding of web services development principles and high-volume applications 
  • Demonstrated technical / project leadership using Agile/Scrum
  • Proficiency in English
