Job description

A US-based event management platform is looking for a Ruby on Rails Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for finding creative solutions, releasing rapidly, and shipping elegant, customer-centric applications. The state-of-the-art technology platform enables event organizers of all sizes with powerful tools to plan, organize, promote, and execute their events. The company’s clientele consists of businesses like Marine Corps Marathon, runDisney, Mercedes Benz Corporate Run, and many more. This role requires at least 6 hours overlap with EST. This is a great opportunity for those who would like to develop innovative solutions and collaborate with industry experts.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on developing integrating front-end features with server-side logic
  • Conceptualize and build robust, secure, and scalable features
  • Take charge of the codebase development 
  • Improve quality of the code and troubleshoot bugs and errors
  • Work closely with product owners to deliver products in a fast-paced environment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a software engineering role
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS,  and JavaScript 
  • Should have experience in working with Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Python, and other similar scripting languages
  • Should have prior experience of developing internal and external APIs and RESTful based web services
  • Deep understanding of AWS (lambda, DynamoDB, EMR, or other cloud providers)
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks like jQuery, React, or Angular
  • Must be committed to developing good design, solid test coverage, and quality code
  • Strong interpersonal skills and fluency with English
