Job description

A U.S.-based company developing an innovative digital platform that aims to empower the immigrant communities through their data-driven services is looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer. The selected candidate will work with the team to create their debit card-focused feature app, that will enable the company to grow into a major force rivaling PayPal. In order to give immigrant families reliable information and specialized services, the company uses proprietary data technology. The company has managed to securely raise more than $70mn in funding so far. This position requires 4+ hours of overlap with the U.S. time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Upgrade the current Ruby on Rails versions on the website
  • Develop scalable solutions from scratch and work on improving existing applications
  • Actively analyze website performance and take decisions to make suggestive improvements
  • Identify and fix performance bottlenecks 
  • Help build out the new credit card back-end system

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7-10+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • Extensive experience in Ruby on Rails
  • Proficiency in back-end development
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
