Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing innovative mobile technology and data science solutions focused around financial services in emerging markets, is looking for a QA Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for continually enhancing and working with different subject matter experts across functions. The company's state-of-the-art digital financial services and tools are helping customers to borrow, save, and grow organically. The company has managed to secure $368mn+ in funding so far. This position requires a significant overlap with the U.S./Kenyan time zones. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn new tools continuously and assist the team in maintaining the test framework optimization
  • Organize, carry out, and report the results of all tests conducted on products created by Product Engineering
  • Without being micromanaged, work autonomously while carrying out the given instructions, and promptly offer the manager updates 
  • Test features, regressions, and the system as a whole
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures for crypto products

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Working experience on test life cycle (test planning, test designing, test case creation/maintenance, test automation, execution, reporting)
  • In-depth understanding of Java and working knowledge of Scala
  • Experience with Kotlin is a plus
  • Knowledge of tools such as REST Assured, Postman, and Selenium
  • Experience working in an Agile development process (Scrum/ Kanban/ Scrumban)
  • Facilitate end-to-end testing by collaborating with other teams (Test.IO, external groups, business, customer, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more version control systems such as Github, Gitlab, Perforce, Jenkins
  • Excellent team player with the ability to function effectively with little supervision
  • Exceptional attention to detail, along with great analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
