Job description

A U.S.-based company that offers specialized child-care services at its child development center is looking for an ML Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for communicating and collaborating with different teams regularly. The organization promotes an early childhood care atmosphere that is hospitable to children and encourages their curiosity and creativity. This is an exciting opportunity for developers who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

We are on the hunt for an innovative and driven Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT. As a key player in our engineering team, you will lead the ML initiatives for our new product line, designed to harness the power of NLP to provide actionable business insights to our clients. This role involves deep technical expertise, a knack for data analysis, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of NLP-driven products, focusing on understanding user intents and delivering actionable insights
  • Design and train Machine Learning models, particularly LLMs, to analyze and interpret complex datasets
  • Utilize advanced techniques like RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for building robust ML projects
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate ML models into the larger product ecosystem, ensuring scalability and efficiency
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis and ML to continually enhance model accuracy and performance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in ML, guiding the team and driving the adoption of best practices in ML development
  • Engage in partnerships, like our collaboration with Amazon for AI resources, to leverage cutting-edge technology and infrastructure for our ML projects

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on Machine Learning or NLP
  • At least 4+ years of experience working as a ML Engineer
  • Proven track record in Machine Learning and NLP, with hands-on experience in developing and deploying LLMs
  • Experience with model training, tuning, and deployment, with a solid understanding of RAG and other advanced ML techniques
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process and interpret complex data sets to drive business insights
  • Independence in project management and execution, with the capacity to lead initiatives and collaborate with a broader engineering team
  • Familiarity with GPT is required
  • Experience with AWS services and technologies, especially Amazon Bedrock, is a plus but not required
  • Prior experience leading ML projects or teams is desirable
  • Nice to have some published research or projects in the field of NLP or ML
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Fluent in verbal and written English communication
