Job description

A rapidly-growing company combining the power of technology and data to help merchants and businesses deliver the best pricing to their customers is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer. The engineer will be working closely with the Chief Data Scientist to build innovative solutions that will disrupt the e-commerce industry. The startup is building revolutionary products that aim to deliver optimal pricing for merchants. This is an exciting opportunity for developers who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with e-commerce experts, designing and developing efficient ML models 
  • Determine and capture features best suited to achieve accurate predictions, including but not limited to indicators of revenue, price, and conversation rates
  • Attack complex business questions with data and dive below the surface to identify the root cause.
  • Develop and validate machine learning models, research relevant statistical methods, and perform data analysis
  • Continuously deliver models into production to test
  • Provide recommendations for operationalizing machine learning models into production

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
  • 3-5 years working professionally in the machine learning and data analytics field
  • Proficient working with Python and related technologies like pandas, NumPy, scikit learn, etc.
  • Experience aggregating data, exploring data, building and validating predictive models
  • Experience deploying completed models with concept-drift monitoring and retraining to deliver business impact to the organization
  • Proven experience taking machine learning algorithms from R&D to product, especially using AWS cloud services
  • Proficient with SQL and data wrangling
  • Real-world experience as an ML engineer or data scientist 
  • Sound expertise in building and deploying ML models or developing deep learning models
  • Proficiency in at least 3 of the 5 key machine learning algorithms like Ridge Regression and Lasso, random forests, linear optimization models, sensitivity analysis, and boosting model
  • Deep understanding of the different parts of the data pipeline
  • Experienced with plotting in Python (Matplotlib, etc.)
  • Comfortable owning the entire lifecycle from beginning to end
  • Dashboarding experience is nice to have
  • Some exposure to data analysis, data engineering, analytics engineering, and data science
