Job description

A U.S.-based company that is establishing a visual effects studio with a focus on 3D modeling, rigorous rotoscoping, and compositing, is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of adjusting open-source image models for activities requiring visual effects. The company's full-service VFX studio is helping businesses to bridge the gap between their imagination and final execution. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans for machine learning solutions in conjunction with the project manager(s) and outside advice
  • Follow the most recent developments in machine learning and put them into practice
  • Utilizing PyTorch, create and manage machine learning models
  • Train, test, and implement deep learning models in production within real-world settings
  • Work with huge picture and video collections and carry out data augmentation and preparation
  • Lead the development of a set of machine learning technologies for use with a process for visual effects
  • Develop tools outside of PyTorch, should this route provide more benefit
  • Create tools based on free machine-learning models
  • Incorporate current diffuser and image-to-image models with the help of sector-leading outside consultation to complete a number of specified image alteration jobs
  • Utilizing the PyTorch framework, develop a toolset
  • Utilize existing visual effects workflows tools directly by utilizing TorchScript to support compositing jobs
  • Make a standalone application using the developed toolkit independent of current platforms

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Machine Learning engineer
  • Solid working knowledge of PyTorch
  • Excellent OpenCV, diffusion model, and GPU programming skills
  • Track record of using strategies for data augmentation and preprocessing
  • Prolific Python programming expertise and knowledge of open-source programs and libraries
  • In-depth knowledge of, and practical expertise with, distributed computing and huge datasets
  • Comprehensive understanding of machine learning techniques and best practices
  • Nice to have some familiarity with the terminology and techniques used in visual effects
  • Experience with GUIs is preferred, as is the capacity to combine these tools into a separate, comprehensible interface
  • Experience with computer vision or natural language processing is preferred
  • Prior experience with deep reinforcement learning is nice to have
  • Experience using AWS EC2, lambda, Sagemaker, or the Azure/GCP equivalent is desirable
  • Excellent ability to solve problems and work autonomously
  • Fluent in written and spoken English communication skills
