Job description

An NYSE-listed consumer products company dealing in household, healthcare, and personal products is looking for a Lead Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for resolving data-related technical issues and providing business owners with data infrastructure support. The company has been recognized for its environmental leadership and innovation in promoting community well-being. It has successfully raised more $15mn in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle a portfolio of data engineering projects with a small team of data engineers who report to you directly
  • Drive the development, implementation, and documentation of best practices in data engineering throughout the organization
  • Collaborate with data and analytics leaders to improve data system functionality
  • Provide thought leadership in the area of new technology platforms that will benefit data engineering practice
  • Describe, build, and maintain the best data pipeline architecture possible
  • Define, design, and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, among other things
  • Define and construct the infrastructure needed for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading from a wide range of data sources
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members to help them build and optimize our products to become innovative industry leaders
  • Manage the resolution of data-related technical issues and provide data infrastructure support to business owners

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant data engineering experience
  • Ability to adhere to all policies and standards
  • Experience in SQL, Python, and Cloud (GCP or AWS) 
  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow is nice to have
  • Proficiency in English
