Job description

A US-based company that offers an AI-powered enterprise risk management solution to help small businesses identify and manage risks is looking for a Lead Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving an ongoing improvement by automating the configuration, installation, and maintenance of the platform services. The organization provides rapid contract risk review and meaningful data insights that enable small businesses to make informed business decisions quickly and confidently.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • In a greenfield environment, perform day-to-day platform design, development, and delivery
  • Implement key back-end systems, such as the database, contract processing, clause classification, search, risk scoring, and customer analytics systems, in a cloud environment
  • Drive continuous improvement by automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services
  • Assist in the architectural design and implementation of new services in a complex startup/incubator environment
  • Lead the integration of third-party APIs across a variety of use cases
  • Assist or lead incident response, diagnosis, and follow-up on system outages and alerts throughout the production infrastructure

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years experience in a software engineering role as part of a team
  • Experience with AWS, Python, Javascript, Java, Lamda, Postgres and Docker is a must
  • Knowledge of modern search, Machine Learning, and NLP engineering tasks, including deep learning systems, is required
  • Strong database design and implementation skills
  • Strong English language skills 
  • Spanish language skills are a strong plus
  • Ability to work independently as an effective part of a globally distributed team
  • Experience in Legal Tech, ideally contract processing or risk management, is desirable
  • Experience with distributed systems is nice to have
  • Desire to work in a startup environment and a robust customer-driven approach
