Job description

A US-based company that connects millions of individuals across the world by allowing them to share, vote, discuss, and create across thousands of communities, is looking for an iOS Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining advanced applications for the iOS platform. The company takes great pride in their ability to maintain and grow healthy, active communities by creating delightfully engaging experiences. During their Series F round, the company raised $1.2bn+ in funding. This role requires at least 2+ hours overlap with the EST time zone.

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help design architectures and build components to deliver a fast and smooth experience to users across the world
  • Collaborate with cross-functionally and cross-teams to define technical and business strategies and build experiences
  • Contribute to the entire development cycle, including processes like technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
  • Perform code reviews and design documents, provide feedback on product specs and mockups
  • Spearhead a team of agile and motivated engineers
  • Help to set and define standards that improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and mentor engineers on the team
  • Keep learning and improving technical and non-technical skillset

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 6+ years of experience within iOS development
  • Should possess sound knowledge of software engineering fundamentals
  • Must embrace challenges like developing data-intensive, highly responsive, and fault-tolerant applications in the constrained environment of a smartphone
  • Must possess an urge to master new approaches to build software
  • Should be passionate about building scalable, well-designed software capable of improving lives globally
  • Proven experience in building out amazing Android apps (at least one) with a team from start to shipment will be helpful
  • Ability to develop high-performance feed-based or media-rich iOS applications is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English is highly preferred
