Job description

A US-based company building an online content sharing and community building platform is looking for an iOS Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing application updates. The company is determined to build the next-generation video surface and brand new creation tools. They have managed to raise more than $1bn in funding so far. This role requires 4-5+ hours overlap with the US time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering peers to execute on product and business strategy
  • Create unique items and features that users will appreciate
  • Participate throughout the whole development cycle, from technical design to development, testing, experimentation, and analysis, all the way to launch
  • Drive related technical and product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution for one of the largest sites in the world
  • Review code and design docs, provide feedback on product specs and mocks
  • Lead a group of thoughtful, quick-thinking, and enthusiastic engineers
  • Create new things and thrive in the face of uncertainty and even failure
  • Set and define standards that optimize developer processes, promote best practices, and assist engineers on the team in their professional development by coaching and mentoring them
  • Learn and develop your technical and non-technical skills on a regular basis

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of experience designing large-scale user-facing IOS mobile native applications
  • Experience working with Swift and Objective-C
  • Proficiency with multithreading and performance optimization techniques for iOS
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, REST, HTTP basics, and the ability to design maintainable APIs is nice to have
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and stay on track with the project schedule
  • Must be self-directed, innovative, and action-oriented in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication abilities, as well as the ability to work effectively with teams in a completely remote setting
  • Readiness to communicate complicated issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Good problem-solving skills with an ability to meet deadlines
