Job description

A US-based online community platform that enables users to submit links, produce content, and participate in discussions about the topics of their interest, is looking for an iOS Engineer. This will be a high-impact role where the developer will drive related technical and product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution. The company is supporting a growing family and communities with millions of diverse users. They have managed to secure more than $1bn during their Series F round of funding. This role requires 4-5+ hours overlap with the US time zones.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside cross-functional teams like product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute product and business strategy for building new products and features that users will like
  • Work closely with full development cycle like technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch
  • Review code and design documents and give feedback about product specifications and mocks
  • Lead and manage a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers
  • Define new standards to improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and mentor junior engineers for further professional development
  • Keep learning and improving technical and non-technical abilities

Job Requirements:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 5+ years of experience as a software developer working on user-facing iOS mobile native applications at scale
  • Extensive experience working with Swift and Objective-C
  • Deep understanding of multithreading and performance optimization techniques for iOS applications
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, REST, and HTTP basics with knowledge of designing maintainable APIs is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a project development schedule
  • Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments
  • An urge to develop new solutions and thrive in ambiguity and even failure
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to collaborate efficiently with different teams in a fully remote work model to discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences
