Job description

An emerging US-based company that uses ML technologies to help users measure mental health is looking for an iOS Engineer. The selected candidate will be working alongside talented developers and responsible for building out new UIs for the company’s app. The engineer will be tasked with making idiomatic code that is well-structured, reusable, and maintainable. The platform was created to assist people all over the world in monitoring their behavioral health and attempting to improve their mental health in real-time. The company has managed to raise more than $2 mn in funding so far. This will be a long-term, full-time position that requires 5-6+ hours overlap with the PST time zone.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Build out features on the SDK
  • Work on the mobile sensing framework and app utilized by people globally
  • Improve the sensing framework's performance and incorporate new sensor streams from wearables and other data sources
  • Own the iOS app and the sensing framework throughout its lifecycle from developing, testing, debugging and deploying prototypes
  • Prototype new user interfaces and interactions to engage individuals in mental health improvement
  • Assist the team in ensuring that iOS and Android products are consistent
  • Test and document at an acceptable level

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an iOS engineer
  • 7+ years of working experience writing professional code
  • Demonstrable knowledge and skills with Swift and SwiftUI
  • Extensive SDK experience
  • Experience with SDK design and iOS Frameworks 
  • Strong fundamentals in Computer Science
  • Prior experience with background data collection, battery-life optimization, and local data processing
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs and consuming JSON
  • Experience with UI development on iOS
  • Experience with managing and deploying releases on App Store Connect
  • Familiarity with Python, Kotlin, and AWS is nice to have
