Job description

A U.S.-based company that is creating a live learning platform that connects learners and experts for customized training to meet learning objectives, is looking for a Front-End React Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining and deploying extensive web applications. The company is determined to revolutionize the Edtech industry with their world-class solutions and services. The company has managed to secure more than $105mn during their Series C round of funding.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write efficient, maintainable, well-documented code that is simple to understand
  • Create automated tests to confirm the code's accuracy in every detail
  • Concentrate on quality and make iterative improvements to move from good to better
  • Participate in the team's on-call rotation and take responsibility for the code from development to deployment and operations
  • Prepare yourself to learn from some of the sharpest minds in the field
  • Work both autonomously and cooperatively in a fast-paced team, closely collaborating with other engineers, product management, and design

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a front-end engineer
  • Extensive experience working with React 
  • Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails or comparable web frameworks, such as Django
  • Prior experience with highly concurrent programming languages like GoLang, Java, or Scala
  • In-depth knowledge of deployment tools (such as CodeShip and AWS CodeDeploy)
  • Extensive experience with the Linux operating system and command-line tools
  • Adequate familiarity with OO design, algorithms, and data structures
  • Solid understanding of AWS services like RDS, Kinesis, Lambda, EC2, etc.
  • Nice to have prior experience implementing e-commerce solutions 
  • Ability to pick up new languages and technologies rapidly when needed
  • Fluent in spoken and written English communication skills
