Job description

A US-based company operating as a global leader in digital-based consumer engagement, self-service ordering, and casual dining industries is looking for a Front-End Mobile Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining the next-generation hybrid-mobile front-end structure for use throughout development teams to build consumer restaurant service systems seen by millions of customers. The organization serves over 100 global and regional brands, including Burger King, Baskin-Robbins, etc. The company has successfully raised close to $35 mn in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a hybrid mobile platform using cutting-edge technologies and techniques, and internally champion and support adoption across a global development team
  • Use your extensive knowledge of front-end/mobile technologies to identify frameworks, libraries, techniques, and strategies that development teams can use to create world-class mobile apps
  • Determine the feasibility and drive framework innovation by prototyping and implementing new framework features
  • Create and maintain a web CI/CD pipeline for engineering teams
  • Maintain current knowledge of mobile development tooling and process norms, and ensure that the engineering standards and processes continue to reflect best practices
  • Define the mobile deployment and SDLC process standards in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Closely collaborate with product stakeholders to provide estimates for key web implementation roadmap items
  • Maintain constant awareness of Play/App store requirements, mobile application capabilities, and trends to assist the Product teams and inform them about potential roadmap features, including implementation breakdowns and prototypes
  • Collaborate with the Design team to create design systems, user interaction, and navigation standards that can be applied to multiple applications
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure established standards are appropriate for developer creativity, throughput, and consistency
  • To ensure the success of development teams, provide technology mentoring and training

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a mobile engineer
  • Knowledge of NativeScript, React Native, Xamarin, Ionic, and Flutter
  • JavaScript/Typescript expertise and robust understanding of CSS
  • Experience publishing and managing mobile apps in the Apple App Store/Google Play Store and Facebook
  • Knowledge of performance and platform limitations of mobile applications and the ability to collaborate on mitigation techniques
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and decompose them into work tasks
  • The ability to analyze problems and implement solutions that trade-off architectural, usability, performance, reliability, scalability, level-of-effort, and time-to-market
  • Understand and support software delivery lifecycle, including design, implementation, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, release, and maintenance
  • Collaborate with various staff disciplines, including account, product, analytics, and QA teams
  • Knowledge of interface guidelines and must be able to collaborate in the development of good mobile UX and iOS/Android peculiarities
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum
  • Strong understanding of interactive touch/gesture interfaces for mobile
  • Excellent verbal and documentation communicator with the ability to create high-level and detailed design documents describing architectures and implementation plans
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required; other languages is a plus
