Job description

A New York-based venture-backed startup providing an open-core platform to create and explore complex real worlds in realistic virtual environments is looking for a Front-end Engineer. As a member of our platform team, you will be responsible for scaling features and helping to lead the architecture of the simulation products. The company is backed by founders of successful startups such as Kaggle and Stack Overflow and has raised up to $2.5 mn in funding. This is a nice opportunity to join an early-stage startup and grow rapidly. It requires a time overlap with GMT and EST.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Push features to the platform rapidly
  • Contribute to the architecture of the graph and simulation products
  • Boost the performance and responsiveness of the web apps
  • Build out scalable search solutions and initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficient in React, Typescript, Redux, and GraphQL
  • Previous track record working as part of a high-velocity remote team
  • Experience building OT/CRDT-based collaborative multiplayer applications
  • Proficiency with any of Monaco, ProseMirror, Three.js, Plotly, or Mapbox/MapLibre
  • Ability to build scalable search solutions with ElasticSearch or with similar tools
  • Experience implementing i18n and l10n initiatives (in particular atop Next.js)
  • Familiarity with UX/UI
  • Ability to lead the architecture of a highly complex SPA
  • Experience in optimizing performance and responsiveness in demanding web apps
