Job description

An emerging company that is revolutionizing the transportation industry by providing extensive expertise and technology to ensure passengers have a better travel experience, is looking for a Front-End Engineer. The selected candidate will be tasked with building a beautiful consumer website by developing sophisticated algorithms and highly available systems to offer best-in-class services to the customers. The fast-paced startup’s patented algorithm searches the internet's many secret corners for the best travel prices, saving users time and effort. Job Responsibilities:

  • Interact directly with product owners to help turn use cases into solid engineering solutions
  • Collaborate with other engineers to identify and solve challenging problems
  • Promote sound engineering practices, drive technical excellence and strategy
  • Participate in design discussions with key stakeholders at various levels
  • Participate in the full development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, and production release
  • Be a proactive risk-taker and encourage code craftsmanship across the team
  • Build the front-end systems that deliver services, scale those systems for growth, and continuously improve the engineering practice
  • Deliver code in an agile team environment
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development
  • Participate in code reviews to drive the team to the highest standards for React-based web applications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a front-end engineer
  • Experience with web application development, including React applications utilizing RESTful APIs
  • Exceptional coding skills in popular JS frameworks and libraries, including React
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3
  • Familiarity with React libraries like Formik, Material UI, Recoil, and Stripe
  • Working experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web
  • Prior experience working with Next.js, Vercel, Node.js, Java, Tailwind, Angular, Microservices, and REST APIs
  • Solid understanding of Docker, Nginx, PostgreSQL, and AWS - EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM
  • Working knowledge of Figma, Storybook, Shortcut, Slack, Google Workspace, Gitlab, Github, Firebase, Gradle, and Jib
  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and Mac
  • Team-player with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills with experience building strong relationships and even stronger teams
  • Detail-oriented and well organized, able to explain complex topics in a clear way
