Job description

A well-established company that is digitizing classrooms to help teach students more efficiently through modern technology is looking for a Front-End Engineer. The selected candidate must be deeply empathetic towards users' needs and should have the ability to envision practical solutions for a global product. The company's goal is to make online education simple and accessible for everyone. They have raised $110 mn+ in funding during their Series B round. This role will require some overlap with the IST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, and other essential web technologies, to architect and construct scalable front-end web applications
  • Create reusable code and libraries for future usage by employing iterative development techniques
  • Ensure quality performance on mobile and desktop
  • Incorporate monitoring, metric dashboards, runbooks, logging, escalations, and alerts into your system
  • Lead code and design reviews for components, systems, products, and architectural governance
  • Adopt best practices and continuously learn new techniques to keep code bases current

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of development experience in modern web technologies and frameworks
  • Extensive experience working with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, Backbone.js, and AngularJS
  • Ability to create a feature from the ground up and see it through to completion 
  • Prior hands-on experience in a product engineering environment, designing responsive web interfaces at scale for users
  • Complete awareness of the platform's database, API's, cache layer, proxies, and other web services employed in the system's duties 
  • Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills 
  • Solid understanding of browser behavior, performance, compatibility, and cross-browser concerns is essential
  • Solid understanding of REST API  
  • Knowledge of front-end tools such as Webpack, Grunt, and Gulp.js 
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools like Git
  • Prior experience with Open source is desirable
  • Strong grounding in Computer Science fundamentals
