Job description

An early-stage platform for startups providing the necessary resources and knowledge to accelerate growth in a startup’s journey is looking for a Front-End Developer. The developer will work closely with the UI/UX designer to bridge the gap between the graphical design and its technical implementation. The platform combines a network of coaches, mentors, and investors, along with an ecosystem of partners to enable more startups to flourish. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to merge the art of design and programming while playing an active role in defining how the application looks and works.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop new user, client-facing features
  • Build scalable, reusable code and libraries for future use and implementation 
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize application, maximizing it for speed and scalability
  • Ensure the user input is validated before submitting it to the back-end
  • Collaborate with other team members and relevant stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a front-end developer
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, etc.
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools to crop, resize, or perform minor adjustments on an image 
  • Familiarity with tools like Photoshop is a plus
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Mercurial, and SVN
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
  • An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
