Job description

A fast-growing company on a mission to automate the world with their world-class technologies and solutions is looking for an Embedded Systems Developer/Architect. The selected candidate will be driving the software engineering process with continuous improvement. The company is working to build and maintain new industrial automation solutions, mass communications systems, and future-facing web technologies to help clients and businesses succeed with their range of tools. This position requires some overlap with the EST time zone. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Build a plug-and-play industrial automation system on the company’s state-of-the-art Arduino Pro X8 or H7 microcontroller
  • Develop interop for a local HMI application to communicate with an unknown number of FRAMs via I2C
  • Read and write content from/to several memory locations
  • Generically read digital/analog sensor data and report information about these sensors to/interact with an IoT cloud in a generic manner (most likely MQTT or AMQP-based communication)
  • Read industrial sensors generically and provide a plug-and-play means of interacting with new sensors
  • Interact with a touchscreen interface and deliver information about addressable memory locations 
  • Publish sensor readings over a PUB/SUB protocol

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • Extensive experience in embedded C/C++ w/ limited memory
  • Knowledge of the Arduino platform 
  • Prolific experience using I2C/UART/other serial hardware communication protocols
  • Demonstrable experience building complex state machines
  • Experience with Yocto-based embedded Linux distributions
  • Electrical Engineering/Hardware knowledge is preferred 
  • Working knowledge of NXP HSM’s
  • Solid background in Industrial Automation/Industrial IoT
  • Knowledge of legacy industrial protocols such as ModBus, Siemens S7, Allen Bradley EthernetIP
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
