Android Staff Engineer

A well-established OTT platform that is progressing in the field of modern entertainment through innovative solutions, is looking for an Android Staff Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for participating in the construction and maintenance of the essential frameworks that improve the dependability and enjoyment of apps as well as the preparation of the overall product. The company aims to become the best video content location for viewers on a variety of devices, including smartphones and tablets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Influence how specific features and products are built, and introduce best practices and patterns that can be applied across the Android engineering lifecycle
• Take charge of the ongoing Engineering efforts to scale mobile app development
• Drive the creation of new features for our renowned mobile applications for smartphones and tablets
• Offer insightful advice on how to improve procedures and tools to accommodate more contributors in architecture and code
• Take part in the preparation of the entire product, including the creation and upkeep of the fundamental frameworks that make apps more dependable and enjoyable
• Develop working prototypes for fresh concepts and investigate cutting-edge mobile technology

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 7-12+ years of relevant experience as a mobile application developer
• 7-12 years of experience in Android mobile applications development with a sound understanding of Android Architecture, Framework, Android SDK, Core Java, Android Studio IDE, and Android Debugger
• Knowledge of building mobile applications and mobility solutions native applications
• Expert in UI components & controls; Action Bars, Widgets, Fragments, etc.
• Familiarity with basic components of Android like Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, and Content Provider
• Knowledge of Web Service Integration ( REST, JSON, XML) & cloud technologies - AWS, GAE, and GCM
• Knowledge of a range of mobility areas such as Enterprise mobility, Mobile applications pertaining to various domains like Retail, VAS, Media, BFSI, Healthcare, Social Networking, E-commerce, etc.
• Knowledge of using analytics, location and social APIs, MDM, payment gateway, SMS gateway, media content transcoding, cloud integration, APM tools
• Proficiency in English
