Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Work with other senior members and team leads to plan and implement the payments platform and services design, development, and maintenance
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional teams to clarify product requirements
  • Improve engineering process and tools to improve efficiency and productivity of payment solutions
  • Work with other senior members and team leads to plan and implement the payments platform and services design, development, and maintenance

  • Lead the junior engineers in developing responsive, scalable, and maintainable payments pages and in code reviews
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide them through complex projects and solutions
  • Maintain the payments architecture to ensure maximum performance, stability, and reliability
  • Ensure the team adheres to development best practices and industry trends

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on building payment systems (rare exceptions for highly skilled engineers)
  • Extensive experience working with data structures, algorithms, data modeling, and schema design

  • Proficient in multiple high-level languages, like Go, Ruby, Java, or C++
  • Solid understanding of Typescript, Stripe Connect API, and Node.js
  • Sound knowledge of modern SRE/DevOps practices and culture
  • Expertise in designing and building data pipelines, data APIs, and tools to deploy, test, and perform CI/CD
  • Fluency in English for effective communication
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Prior experience in commerce/payments domain
  • Familiar with AWS ecosystem
  • Experience with different payment integrations is a bonus
