Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Communicate with key business and technology stakeholders to define, analyze, and deliver requirements
  • Assess the impact of design decisions on the computer solution/product/service being developed
  • Translate business requirements into detailed design specifications and code
  • Analyze and suggest a better approach suited for data movement/migration to/from distributed sources
  • Suggest and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
  • Develop solutions, write code, conduct unit testing, develop appropriate documentation, and facilitate final delivery
  • Devise new algorithms and data structures for target environment and platform attributes
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical and technical support

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of data pipelines and applications (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Expertise in functional programming approaches, preferably in Java
  • Hands-on knowledge of software development practices, concepts, and technology with a focus on Java/JavaScript/Node.js and REST API/SOAP
  • Proficient with AWS, Confluent Kafka stacks, including ZooKeeper, Kafka Brokers, Schema Registry, Kafka Streams, KSQL, Kafka Connect, data, and event-driven architecture, etc.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and serverless technologies
  • Sound knowledge of AWS, Code Pipeline, AWS Code Commit, AWS Code Build, Amazon ECR, AWS Lambda
  • Well-versed with Continuous integration / continuous delivery model
  • Expertise in SpringBoot and API architecture and development
  • Strong design and programming skills using JSON, Web Services, XML, XSLT, PL/SQL
  • Fluency in English language for effective communication
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Good knowledge of Microservices
  • Experience with API Security including OAuth
  • Understanding of both test-driven and behavior-driven development
  • Knowledge of Devsecops and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
