Software Developer

A US-based company on a mission to help restaurants and retailers increase additional sales through client loyalty is looking for a Software Developer. The developer will be working in a highly team-oriented environment while resolving problems in complex multi-component systems. The company is helping restaurants to create the best online order and delivery experience possible with customizable menus, centralized menu management, and other services. The company has managed to raise more than $72mn in funding so far. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and scale a high-volume online ordering platform for restaurants and convenience stores
• Design and develop new features for company’s ordering stack
• Create and document APIs for processing online orders, menus, and storing information
• Collaborate with leading delivery and marketplace partners in the food tech ecosystem
• Work directly with the product team to turn ideas into scalable solutions 
• Extend and improve existing system services and software components
• Identify and resolve complexities and performance bottlenecks

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
• Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in web application development, including back-end and front-end development
• Demonstrable experience with scalable web application architectural concepts, including caching, asynchronous / background processing, and queues
• Prior experience with MVC frameworks, such as CodeIgniter, and front-end frameworks, such as React or Vue
• Prolific experience with database performance, including indexing and query execution plans
• Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies, including HTTP, REST, JSON, XML
• Comprehensive experience with functional and unit testing
• Facility with version control systems such as Git is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Nice to have experience in PHP, C# / .NET, AWS, and MongoDB
• Prior experience with Nuxt or other Vue.js frameworks
• Hands-on experience with delivery and marketplace systems, such as Uber and DoorDash
• Familiarity with Point of Sale systems, such as Revel, Toast, NCR Aloha/RPOS, Square, etc. 
• Nice to have experience with payment processing and PCI compliance
• Problem-solving and critical thinking ability
• Aptitude to learn new technologies 
• Proficient in conversational and written English
