Job description

An NYSE-listed company helping consumers to convert complicated data quickly and simply into insightful and useful knowledge is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for improving the internal infrastructure. Due to the company's hybrid data platform for contemporary data architectures, users may benefit from both private and public cloud services. The company has managed to raise around $1bn in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Existing clients should be supported
  • Drive maintenance releases by performing system testing and delivering upgrades, issue fixes, and backports
  • Debug issues at client installations, conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot failures
  • Work on several components, including test frameworks and automation tools
  • Learn to comprehend and apply Hadoop components across the stack in your daily work
  • Improve the internal infrastructure

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of development experience in Java
  • Proficiency in relational databases, including ER modeling and performance optimization like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
  • Development experience in Linux environments
  • Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., Jenkins and Jira)
  • Familiarity with additional development tools such as JUnit, Maven & Jenkins is a plus
  • Experience (or demonstrated interest) in distributed computing or high availability systems is nice to have
  • Big Data / NoSQL / distributed database experience is a plus
  • Previous open source contribution is desirable
  • Experience with test automation is nice to have
  • Understanding and dealing with complicated challenges and systems
  • Ability to work both independently and in groups
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in English
