Job description

A fast-growing company providing a technology-driven, hassle-free customer experience to make buying and selling cars fun, fair, and accessible to all is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The engineer will contribute to building an easy and intuitive experience for people to sell or trade their automobiles. The company is committed to delivering simple solutions that turn buying and selling into an easy, straightforward, and delightful experience. This role would require up to 6 hours of overlap with PST

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop the next iteration of a platform for purchasing vehicles that is adaptable and simple to integrate
  • Work with the operations and data science teams to streamline the entire selling experience
  • Deliver code that is high quality, tested, and maintainable
  • Join forces with other engineers to offer constructive criticism in code reviews and architecture documentation
  • Partake in the technological development, project planning, and creation of important projects

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of experience building technically complex software for the web
  • Demonstrable experience working with Ruby on Rails, React, and AWS
  • Knowledge of back-end API and platform experience
  • Solid experience building and integrating with various APIs
  • Knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Experience with deploying to AWS, GCP, and using CDNs
  • Experience with monitoring and instrumentation tech and vendors like Segment, New Relic, Datadog, Pingdom, and PagerDuty
  • Nice to have some experience working in a start-up/automotive industry 
  • Prior experience working in e-commerce is desirable
  • Excellent English communication skills
