Senior Software Engineer

A NASDAQ-listed company that has developed an e-commerce platform evolving the used car industry through a technology-driven, hassle-free user experience is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, testable, and maintainable code to demonstrate best practices. The company’s mission is to make car ownership and purchase simple and convenient for everyone. This position requires 6+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone. The company has managed to raise close to $500 mn in funding. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop powerful tools for the dealership partners to market and manage their vehicle inventory on their platform
• Be a key contributor to the tech stack and technical processes
• Work with engineers throughout the organization, partnering with Data Science and TechOps
• Demonstrate best practices by delivering testable and maintainable code
• Provide technical leadership for engineers with supportive feedback in code reviews and architecture documents
• Get core technology projects on the company roadmap
• Contribute to cross-team decisions to advance the tech stack and improve development velocity, quality, performance, and security
• Participate in technical design, project planning and lead the development of projects

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
• Extensive experience in Ruby on Rails and React
• Nice to have experience in Typescript and GraphQL
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience building technically complex software for the web
• Demonstrable background, including experience with Ruby on Rails and React
• Prior experience developing SPAs and server-side rendered web-apps
• Experience in React, Typescript, and jQuery is a plus 
• Prolific experience with databases like Postgres, DynamoDb, etc.
• Experience with deploying to AWS, GCP, and using CDNs
• Prior experience with monitoring and instrumentation tech and vendors such as Segment, New Relic, Datadog, Pingdom and PagerDuty
• Experience building and integrating with various APIs
• Experience working in a startup or e-commerce is a plus 
• Fluent in verbal and written English
