Job description

A fast-paced startup founded by cyber security industry experts who have built a cloud-scale security platform is looking for a Senior Software Backend Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for taking part in group projects with various engineers, product managers, and design partner clients. The company is backed by top-tier venture businesses and is working to increase the standards for what is required of contemporary enterprise security technologies and platforms.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Build systems that are reliable and scalable to support the security platform
  • Oversee the creation, testing, and release of the Python-based and modern API framework-based back-end
  • Work closely with the front-end engineers to produce an effective user experience
  • Develop coding best practices, provide guidance and mentoring to other front-end engineering team members, and generate error-free code
  • Participate in collaborative projects with a variety of engineers, product managers, and design partner clients

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Experience in building and deploying software in Google Cloud
  • Competent to mentor and offer assistance and direction to other team members
  • Competency in leading pair programming sessions
  • Knowledge of shipping code in a contemporary, containerized, continuous delivery scenario
  • Comfortable working in a remote team where team members are located in various time zones
  • Ability to provide and receive iterative feedback through code reviews and collaborative development
  • Able to change goals and timelines quickly in response to changing requirements
  • Online hosting of demonstrable work products (e.g. code repos, projects, or portfolios)
  • Conversant with writing high-quality, linted, tested code in Python
  • Proficiency in English
